All you need is an idea

Hackitude events are "hack parties" where coders and non-coders alike can get together to create something cool.

A party can last for as little as a few hours, or for a whole weekend. They're free to attend, and anyone can start one up.

Interested? Why not find a party near you or start your own?

What is Hackitude?

HAckitude is where coders and non-coders come together to solve problems. It's a chance to do something exciting with the talent and information around us. The events try to counter the seemingly endless drudgery or meetings and showcases where much gets discussed, but little gets done.

The first Hackitude event was held in Birmingham UK, in late December of 2009. Out of it came a site called Metalocal, a platform for plotting any data about any place or event, on a map. The idea was a small success, so I, Moxy decided to do it again, but this time give people the opportunity to organise their own events.

I call them "hack parties".
